Perfect scenario is dealing Kane to Anaheim for a draft pick and player to be named later... After the season, Fowler becomes that player. Why would the Ducks want to pay Fowler $6-7 million per year after next season, when they have so much (affordable) depth on the blue line already? Both Fowler and Kane have had a rejuvenated performance this season and both have one year remaining on their contracts. The draft pick is included for buying the Ducks time and allowing Fowler to finish the season in Anaheim. Maybe Buffalo includes a 2nd round pick (they have 2, I believe) on the condition that they receive Anaheim's 1st round pick, if they fail to reach the Conference Finals (in which case, their 1st round pick would go to Dallas for Eaves).

Another scenario, especially if the Sabres deal Kane... Sending Franson to Rangers for Brandon Pirri. Gives Buffalo 20 games to see if Pirri can replace Kane on Jack's LW.
